Mr. Hellebusch joined GEM in 2010 and is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. In this role, Mr. Hellebusch oversees legal and compliance matters including the structuring and closing of transactions, legal due diligence, and the firm’s compliance program. Mr. Hellebusch co-chairs GEM’s Charitable Contributions Committee and is a member of GEM’s Risk Committee.

Prior to joining GEM, Mr. Hellebusch was an attorney in the real estate practice group at Kirkland & Ellis. Prior to Kirkland, Mr. Hellebusch was a Legal Assistant in the real estate practice group at Sullivan & Cromwell.

Mr. Hellebusch received a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from Columbia University.
