Michael Gualtieri
Mike Gualtieri joined Comstock Partners, LC, the privately-held commercial development company owned by the Clemente/Schar family, in January 2014 as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller. In early 2018, upon the combination of the operating platforms of Comstock Partners, LC (“Partners”) and Comstock Holding Companies, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHCI), Mr. Gualtieri assumed his current role as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller of Comstock Holding Companies®, Inc. (“Comstock” or “Company”). In this position, Mr. Gualtieri is responsible for management of the accounting function, as well as financial reporting, treasury functions, tax compliance, budgeting and forecasting, debt placement and compliance, and acquisition underwriting and due diligence for the Company.
Prior to joining the Comstock organization, Mr. Gualtieri held a similar position from 2010 to 2012 at Red Zone Capital, a $300 million private equity firm founded by Daniel Snyder, principal owner of the Washington Redskins, and Dwight Schar, minority owner of Washington Redskins and Chairman of NVR, Inc. (NYSE: NVR). During his tenure at Red Zone Capital, Mr. Gualtieri was responsible for all accounting and financial reporting functions, as well as acquisition underwriting and due diligence functions related to the private equity firm’s acquisition and disposition initiatives. Portfolio assets under management during Mr. Gualtieiri’s tenure at Red Zone Capital included; Dick Clark Productions, a prominent entertainment company and producer of awards shows and television series, and the Johnny Rockets restaurant chain.
Prior to Red Zone, Mr. Gualtieri served as Controller at Snyder Enterprises from 2008 to 2010, where he oversaw all accounting and finance functions related to the private investment and real estate holdings of the Snyder family. Mr. Gualtieri also held various positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers between 2004 – 2008 and 2012 – 2014, most recently as Manager in the Transaction Services advisory practice, providing buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for private equity clients including The Carlyle Group, and formerly as a Senior Auditor in the Private Company Services Assurance practice where he focused on real estate and manufacturing clients.
Mr. Gualtieri graduated with honors from the University of Maryland, College Park with a double degree in Accounting and Finance in 2004. Mr. Gualtieri is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and Maryland.
