Ray Mazzie is a Managing Partner at Southern Waters Capital (“SWC”) where he focuses on sourcing investment opportunities and assembling the necessary team to develop each project. Before co-founding SWC, Ray led corporate development for a startup company, where he raised capital and worked to structure partnerships with research universities as well as local, state, and federal governments. Ray holds a JD/MBA from Florida State University and degrees in economics and political science. He is a member of the Florida Bar and a former Florida Gubernatorial Fellow for Governor Rick Scott. Ray has extensive experience working with legislators and government agencies, having previously worked at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, and the Florida Lottery. In addition to advising small businesses and startups on business strategy and legal issues, Ray has also worked with corporate clients on business structuring and transaction needs and been involved in real estate transactions, asset dispositions, and business continuity implementation. has a track record of fostering collaborative business relationships and strategic partnerships at the intersection of business and bureaucracy.
